I love Christmas and I love having a Christmas
Train. Setting up and hearing the train go round and round the Christmas Tree is all apart of wonderful
Christmas memories. Bill Ott describes it better than anyone in an article he wrote.
Christmas Train and Christmas Train SetsByBill

Christmas is approaching at a speed that tells us it is time to get our holiday
decorations out and set up. Of all our Christmas decorations theChristmas
Train is the one Christmas decoration that I have the fondest
memories...the train going around the tree every year is the one memory that both my kids and I most
cherish.
My first memory of a train at Christmas was at my grandparents house in Cleveland,
Ohio. My brother and both looked forward to playing with the train and often had contests to see who could run it
the longest. After my grandparents moved into a retirement community, the train set was just a memory that I would
one day have to make a reality again.
The first year I got married, I bought a small train set and set it up around the
Christmas tree. Then the next few years, I had several Christmas train sets to include one on a ping pong table,
and one going around the base of the Christmas tree. But as the size of the family grew, I had to consolidate the
train sets into one large Christmas model railroad set that would run on its train tracks on the Ping Pong table
until after the holidays. The last year we had both Christmas Trains running, was when my son was just a toddler,
and the presents did not crowd the tree.
Now my kids are teenagers, and they still look forward to setting up the holiday
train on Christmas Eve. My family has many fond memories of that train set, and to be sure, we will continue to
delight in having our train track up and running before Santa comes down the chimney.
